Welcome!

Over the last few months i’ve been playing with a mini2440 ARM9 development board.  I’m new to embedded development but now i’m starting to get somewhere i thought i’d post some bits on here to help other people.

The board is available from:

www.andahammer.com

A good place to start is their downloads section where there are all sorts of useful links.

  1. Hi… I like your blogs and explanation. but I have a request. Anywhere no proper explanation about Mini2440 root file system or mistake. if you can make explanation about root file system with qt 4.5.3 running…..

    I wait eagerly….

  2. Hi,
I am a Computer & Systems Engineering student from Cairo, Egypt. I was choosing a development board for my graduation project and finally I chose mini2440 development board. I have two questions and I hope you have the answers. Which debugger did you use with this board (the hardware and its software) ? And do the supplier provide any kind of support after purchasing?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    1. Hi Mahmoud, regarding debugging I haven’t gone any furthur than printk! There is a nice chapter in the free book on linux device drivers if you haven’t seen it already: http://lwn.net/Kernel/LDD3/
I guess if you want to write the OS from scratch a hardware solution is going to be very useful but i haven’t looked into this yet and probably never will. I do know there are some examples supplied with the board which should get you on the right track if you want to take this path.
I’ve no experience with supplier support but i wouldn’t expect much given how cheap this thing is. If you choose the linux route there’s plenty of generic help around. Good luck! Doug
